Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
A 3D virtual tour is a simulation of a virtual environment that has been modeled in 3D. This simulation is generated by powerful software that represents the project in great detail, providing an interactive and immersive experience.
There are two types of 3D virtual tours:
Virtual Tours: These are a series of 360º views combined together. They allow clients to virtually visit each space in a static 360º view of the property, enabling them to discover more about what it has to offer.
Virtual Reality Tutorial: Viewers are immersed in a fully interactive 3D environment that provides a virtual representation of the entire building, including all interiors, exteriors, and surroundings. The viewer can navigate freely within this space, gaining a much deeper understanding of the entire proposal. Additionally, the interactive interface may allow viewers to change elements/materials/furniture in real time.
Both 3D virtual tours can be easily shared via a link or QR code to any device. They are compatible with phones, tablets, computers, and standard virtual reality glasses.
Virtual tours are ideal for showcasing a property in its entirety due to their immersive experience. They are highly shareable.
A potential client only needs to scan a QR code or visit a specific URL to view the property.
Virtual tours save time. Imagine only working with genuinely interested clients, eliminating others! That’s the benefit of creating a virtual tour.
Analyzing the property before starting construction helps avoid unnecessary loss of significant time and money.
Offering virtual tours sets you apart. Most developers and architects will have 3D renderings at best; however, many still haven’t embraced virtual tours yet.
It reduces the back-and-forth between you and clients. The virtual tour offers a highly detailed view of the property, meaning you’ll have fewer questions to answer.
There are various ways to use 3D virtual tours: by publishing them on websites and applications.
Websites: The client can upload a zip file containing the HTML file and 3D renders to their website and use it as:
- An additional page;
- Part of an existing page using an iframe tag.
Applications: Many mobile apps support 360 panoramas. Using your smartphone or tablet, you can upload one or more 3D panoramic renders to show how the rooms would look in real life. The apps use the device’s accelerometer, so as you move and tilt the device, the view changes accordingly.
All of our 3D virtual tours are initially based on 2D plans; we then produce a realistic 3D model. Depending on the type of Virtual Tour, we can generate 360º images or a Virtual Reality environment. Learn more about what the 3D modeling and rendering process may involve by visiting the workflow section on our pricing page.
The cost of a virtual tour depends on the specific features of a particular project. To get an accurate estimate for your project, request a quote by contacting our Vimap Studio team.
